Intro

Hello! I am a PhD candidate in Astrophysics at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA-CSIC), based in Granada, Spain. I obtained my master's and bachelor's degrees in Physics from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, located in the same city where I was born, Santa Maria (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil).

I am passionate about Astronomy and active galaxies in particular. My main lines of research are active galactic nuclei (AGN), quasars, and radiogalaxies. Briefly, during my PhD I am dedicated on the UV and optical spectral analysis of a sample of high-redshift and high-luminosity quasars with very peculiar characteristics and their location in the so-called Main Sequence of quasars.

Apart from this, I am also interested in Astronomy outreach and on making this amazing science accessible to everybody, specially for elementary and high school students.

  • Jan 2020 - Present

    PhD in Physics and Mathematics

    At the University of Granada and IAA-CSIC. Working on the thesis titled "The Main Sequence of Quasars at Early Cosmic Epochs", under the supervision of Dr. Ascensión del Olmo (IAA-CSIC, Spain) and Dr. Paola Marziani (INAF-Padova, Italy). Research partially supported by the INPhINIT scholarship from the LaCaixa foundation.

  • 2018 - 2019

    Master in Physics

    At UFSM. Worked on MaNGA IFU data, analysing the distribution and kinematics of the stars and mainly of the ionized gas in AGNs. The thesis was developed under the supervision of Dr. Rogemar A. Riffel (UFSM, Brazil). Research partially supported by the CNPq (Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Extensão) scholarship.

  • 2014 - 2017

    Bachelor in Physics

    At UFSM. During the first year I started to work with MaNGA AGNs and on developing data analysis skills, under the supervision of Dr. Rogemar A. Riffel (UFSM, Brazil). Research partially supported by the PET (Programa de Educação Tutorial) scholarship, from the Ministry of Education and Culture from Brazil.
